Footprints in the Sand   Leave a comment

Outstanding dreams find lonely footprints in the lonely seashores of dreams in the sleep!!

Attila Ovari

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish,
sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is…

I have seen the trails of a kingfisher in the country woods….;   Leave a comment

Night had been over by the sound of droplets trickling down from the trees around the plantation in the countryside valley as there had been rains last night.Early in the morning ,I started making the morning tea when I heard the splashing sounds in the pool near the cottage and looked through the window glass to know that it were the flapping of wings of a kingfisher in the pool around .So, I finished with my tea and took my canon500D and looked out of the window to see the kingfisher on the branches nearby:

It was the white-throated one with cerulean blue wings and  long ,maroon beaks …I kept silent and a safe distance from the wall and the doors with my canon 400mm USM and begun shooting the behavior of the bird after the early dawn bathing ;the wings were slightly spread out and jerking the body in full swing,it began to rejuvenate; many times,it was a little bit difficult to get the focus  as the postures rapidly changed in fractions of moments! Thus, moments passed, the sun shone up more , the leaves and shadows varied in the breeze emerging from the lower part of the plane ;meanwhile the Fisher kept its position still on the same spot in the branch but its postures and movements varied from one to another instantaneously……the morning had awakened into bright lights and the rays got more hot; I don’t know how much the shutter button was released within that while and it is only when I had thought it was enough, I took my hands away from the button and moved back. Then I thought about the tea-table for making preparations for my light  breakfast. By this time ,my white-throated companion had left the branch……to another one away :

The wings up

Postures changed rapidly and the entire body was shivered to spell out the wet

Reminiscent of a fruitful experience in Black and White photography with pure black and white films by the last of 19thcentury

  • Early midsummers proved quite fruitful in terms of performances during the nights in temples. Later on I have tried to capture them in films using my Minolta7SII 40mm Compact Camera. My pioneering attempts were done in black and white films in pure manual photographic techniques. so the efforts led me to new findings with sound lessons in manual focusing and lighting effects in night photography under no external light accessories but a single flash unit attached to the hot shoe.
  • Besides being a matter of curiosity, nights provided a background for  fascinating images a more solid form of visual impact and imaginative value. While taking the shots of performers in grant and elaborate costumes and make ups in their vibrant moves of steps and gestures, it was somewhat possible to capture that spirit of dance in the fantastic element of night with the black and white films without much difficulty of instantaneous nature of live shooting.
  • still worthy to be used for enduring results in good quality images

A latest profile of the old manual camera,Minolta7SII(hi-matic) , a fruitful photographic experience

The vibrant moves of the performers were captured in black and white films in my Minolta7SII 40mm camera during the early 2000s

Night performances were possible to be caught up with the handy Minolta 7SII( Hi-matic) in the rigorous movement and lights on the stage. It was convenient to make it more or less stable under the luminous lights and darkness of the night as the backdrop for the swift dancing poses. In such a mode of moment Minolta provided a nice support for my first adventuring spirit of capturing the stage movers in the night light spotted thereon. I conclude it as a golden venture in my enterprise as a beginner in the end of 19th century; think all related to that experience ‘fruitful’ and the equipment of Minolta quite ‘useful’.

A Night’s dream or A Midsummer Night’s Dream   Leave a comment

Being awakened in a night with stars shining in the sky, the skylark was convinced that it is summer, not merely a summer, but an early midsummer; thus it came to him as A Midsummer Night!
The skylark remained sleepless for a few moments…..there had been nobody in any branches of the trees around in the valley there but the stars twinkling everywhere in the sky above…..and lost in their rich lights, it started dreaming; a Dream in an early Midsummer Night!
